  2. Streamlined Giving Process: DAFs simplify charitable giving. With just a few clicks, you can recommend a grant to Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.

  3. Supporting Long-Term Impact: Your DAF grant helps sustain programs that make a meaningful difference. Your contribution directly fuels treatments and therapies that are changing kids’ lives, innovation and technology that’s improving access to care, and research that’s building the future of pediatric care.

  4. Align Your Values with Your Giving: By donating through your DAF, you demonstrate a commitment to Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation’s mission of improving care and increasing access so every child can reach their full potential, ensuring your philanthropic dollars make the greatest impact.

  5. Plan for Year-End Giving: Using your DAF is an excellent way to meet your year-end giving goals and support Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation during this critical time for nonprofits.

An Example of How It Works

Joe and Laura want to give back to their hometown by putting their money where it will do the most good. They establish a $25,000 donor advised fund with a community foundation.

The couple receives a federal income tax charitable deduction for the amount of the gift. They also get the time they need to decide which charities to support.

After researching community needs with the foundation's staff, Joe and Laura recommend grants for Children's Specialized Hospital (which they've supported for years) and a local animal shelter. The foundation presents the charities with checks from the Brianna Fund, which Joe and Laura named in honor of their daughter.

They name Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary to receive the account balance after their lifetimes. Joe and Laura are delighted to start this personal legacy of giving.
